Supported beta platforms

Companion is currently focused on supported legal streaming pages. Crunchyroll is the strongest detector first, with HIDIVE next and Hulu and Netflix in best-effort beta mode.

How it works

1. Watch an episode on a supported site.
2. AniComment detects the show, or lets you pick it yourself if the match is weak.
3. Read and post in the same spoiler-safe discussion you see on AniComment.com.
4. Set progress manually and keep spoilers behind the line.

Privacy and safety

Does not read video streams.
Does not bypass DRM.
Does not download video.
Reads only limited supported-page context like the current URL, title, headings, and accessible labels.
Loads AniComment profile display data, comments, and watch progress only when needed for signed-in AniComment features.
Does not sell watch history.
Uses minimal permissions.
Saved mappings and extension preferences stay local in chrome.storage.local unless sync is added later.

Install the Beta

Companion is live on the Chrome Web Store. Install it there, then open a supported streaming page when you want spoiler-safe episode discussion while you watch.

Open AniComment Companion

1. Open the AniComment Companion listing in the Chrome Web Store.
2. Choose Add to Chrome and approve the install prompt.
3. Pin the extension if you want faster access from the Chrome toolbar.
4. Open a supported streaming page and launch the AniComment bubble when you want the discussion panel.

If Chrome asks, confirm the install and then pin Companion from the extensions menu.

Built for a small footprint

The bubble stays small, the panel opens only when you ask for it, and Companion does not touch video playback, subtitles, menus, or DRM. If a match looks weak, it falls back to a compact manual attach flow instead of guessing loudly.
